Peter Okoye's Absence Delays Jude Okoye's Fraud Trial

The fraud trial of Jude Okoye, former manager of the defunct music group P-Square, has been stalled due to the absence of key witness Peter Okoye. The trial, which involves allegations of financial crimes amounting to N1.3 billion, was held at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos.

Jude Okoye is facing seven counts of charges brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). During the proceedings, the prosecution, led by G.C.

Akaogu, informed the court that Peter Okoye could not attend due to a rescheduled flight from Abuja to Lagos. Defense counsel Chief Clement Onwuewunor, SAN, confirmed that the prosecution had communicated Peter's absence earlier.

Justice Alexand Owoey adjourned the case until September 21, 2026, to allow for Peter Okoye's cross-examination, which is crucial for the prosecution's case. Jude Okoye has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
