PalmPay Strengthens Youth Empowerment on International Youth Day

On International Youth Day, PalmPay emphasizes its commitment to youth empowerment in Nigeria, where only about 7% of young people aged 15–24 possess basic ICT skills, according to UNICEF. The Federal Government prioritizes skills development and job creation through the Federal Ministry of Youth Development.

PalmPay views youth empowerment as an investment in Nigeria's future workforce and economy. Their initiatives include the Graduate Trainee Programme, which provides young graduates with workplace experience and professional skills, and the NYSC Financial Literacy Programme, offering financial education to Corps members.

Additionally, the Purple Woman initiative supports young women in technology through internships and professional development. Chika Nwosu, Managing Director of PalmPay Nigeria, stated that investing in young people is crucial for a stronger, more inclusive Nigeria.
