Pan African Parliament Applauds Nigeria's Petroleum Sector Reforms Progress

The Pan African Parliament praised Nigeria's advancements in the petroleum sector reforms at a special meeting in South Africa. Members highlighted Nigeria's commitment to implementing the Petroleum Industry Act of 2021 as a model for other African oil-producing nations.

Nigeria's significant increase in daily oil production, surpassing 1.7 million barrels per day, and plans to reach 2.5 million barrels per day by 2026 were lauded. The country's transparent and investment-friendly licensing regime under the new law has attracted substantial investments, with field development plans worth approximately $20 billion approved in the past ten months.
