Wale Adenuga Defends Papa Ajasco Against Financial Claims

Wale Adenuga, a veteran Nigerian filmmaker, responded to claims made by actor Abiodun Richard Ayoyinka, popularly known as Papa Ajasco, regarding his financial difficulties despite decades in the entertainment industry. Ayoyinka, aged 65, recently stated to media personality Lucky Udu that he neither owns a house nor a car and earns a modest fee from the long-running sitcom "Papa Ajasco." In his statement, Adenuga characterized Ayoyinka's claims as misleading, highlighting that the actor has received substantial support over the years, including owning multiple vehicles, such as a Mercedes Benz, and a house in Ogun State.

Adenuga further clarified that the character of Papa Ajasco is a registered trademark, allowing for independent projects while protecting the brand. He noted that Ayoyinka is free to accept roles with official approval from Adenuga's production company.

Adenuga affirmed that the sitcom continues to air on various platforms, including NTA, WAPTV, and YouTube, and emphasized that financial obligations to the actor and crew meet industry standards, dismissing the notion of financial abandonment as entirely false.
