Three perish in Kwara bus-truck collision, FRSC confirms
On Friday, a fatal accident occurred near Ibrolak Filling Station in the Okolowo area of Kwara, resulting in the deaths of three individuals. The bus, which was traveling from Lagos towards northern Nigeria, collided with a truck that was loaded with sack bags suspected to contain sawdust.
The truck was attempting to make a U-turn when the bus, coming from the opposite direction, crashed into it. The collision caused a fire that engulfed the bus, leaving the three occupants burnt beyond recognition.
Eyewitnesses reported that the bus was carrying day-old chicks, but it was unclear if there were additional passengers. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) responded to the scene early Friday morning to evacuate the victims' remains.
Kabiru Babatunde Kazeem, the Kwara State Sector Commander of the FRSC, confirmed the incident and indicated that further details would be provided, although updates had not been received by the time of the report.
