Passengers Share Disturbing Abuja-Kaduna Train Experiences

Passengers using the Abuja-Kaduna train services reported alarming experiences, particularly Mr. Solomon Abiona, who recounted his ordeal starting four days before his planned journey.

Abiona attempted to purchase five tickets from the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) for a trip to a ceremony in Kaduna but found all seats fully booked. He explained that he was unable to secure even a single ticket online due to the website being down, and when he managed to log in, all tickets were already sold out.

Abiona expressed reluctance to travel by road due to fears of kidnapping along the Abuja-Kaduna highway. Eventually, he was assured by NRC officials that tickets would be issued upon payment of N6,000 each, despite the official fare being N3,600.

Ultimately, six tickets were issued, but none bore his name, adding to the confusion and frustration surrounding the service.
