Streams of Joy International, a church associated with Pastor Jerry Eze, has returned N1,640,200 that a woman accidentally deposited into one of its accounts. The woman, Sandra Okpara, discovered the error after transferring funds meant for other recipients into the wrong account.

Okpara posted a video appeal on social media on Friday requesting assistance in locating and retrieving the money. In the video, she clarified that the funds were not her personal offering but rather payments she owed to third parties.

She asked anyone with connections to the church to help trace the account and recover the transfer. The video gained significant traction online, drawing widespread attention to her predicament.

By Saturday, the church had investigated the matter and confirmed the mistaken transfer. Streams of Joy International subsequently processed a refund, returning the full amount to Okpara.

The church disclosed its actions through a post on the social media platform X, noting that it had completed an investigation and verified the transaction before authorizing the reversal. According to reports, Okpara is a single mother of two children.

The church's decision to refund the money came within one day of her public appeal, resolving the situation relatively swiftly. The incident of account verification before executing large financial transfers, particularly when funds involve obligations to multiple parties.
