Entrepreneur Alleges Pastor's Financial Exploitation and Abuse

Oluremi Sokoya, a 28-year-old entrepreneur, joined a Pentecostal church in Ikorodu, Lagos, in January 2022, seeking spiritual growth. However, her significant tithes attracted the attention of the pastor, who began to exploit her financially and sexually.

Sokoya became a member of the pastor's protocol team and reported that the pastor frequently checked on her and visited her home. Over time, he manipulated her generosity, leading her to spend excessively on him and his family, including groceries and clothing, often using her debit card for purchases.

Sokoya stated that her financial contributions became burdensome, impacting her ability to support her own family. The situation escalated to alleged sexual abuse, with the pastor making inappropriate comments and attempts to touch her.

One incident involved the pastor asking her to bring food to his office, where he allegedly made a sexual advance. Sokoya ultimately left the church in June 2023 due to the ongoing exploitation and abuse.
