Pastor Jerry Eze Reflects on Early Marriage Struggles

Pastor Jerry Eze, founder of Streams of Joy International, recounted the difficulties he faced in the early stages of his marriage, stating that he once considered leaving due to the challenges. He described his first week of marriage as unexpectedly miserable, recalling an incident where a simple question led to his wife angrily sweeping tea cups off the counter.

This pattern of conflict left him hesitant to communicate freely. A significant episode occurred during a trip to London, where a disagreement led to him being stranded on the high street after his wife refused to assist him.

He ultimately returned to her house, repacked his belongings, and changed his flight to leave that night. The turning point came during a prayer when he expressed his willingness to end the marriage, and God informed him that marriage is an assignment rather than a destination.

This revelation shifted his focus from seeking love to giving it, transforming his approach to the relationship.
