Patigi Emirate Union Urges APC to Honor Zoning Agreement

On Tuesday, the Patigi emirate union called on the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Senator Sadiq Sulaiman Umar to honor the longstanding zoning agreement concerning the Kwara North senatorial seat in anticipation of the 2027 general elections. The union expressed opposition to any attempts by the current senator to seek a third term, insisting that the senatorial seat should rotate in accordance with established agreements.

They warned that denying Patigi the opportunity to produce the next senator would create unnecessary political tension and undermine cooperation within Kwara North. The emirate union emphasized that two terms should suffice for representation and urged political stakeholders, traditional rulers, youth groups, and community leaders to engage in dialogue to maintain peace and political stability in the district.

The group reaffirmed its commitment to promoting political harmony and mutual trust among constituents in the local government area.
