APC Caucus: Zoning Politics Hinders Security in Kwara

The APC caucus in Kwara, led by Hon. Benjamin Ezekiel Yisa, has expressed concerns that zoning politics are undermining efforts to combat insecurity in Kwara North. During a press conference in Ilorin on Wednesday, Yisa highlighted the urgent need for political leaders to prioritize security issues rather than focusing solely on the governorship seat for the 2027 general elections.

He noted that the region has faced relentless attacks from terrorists and bandits over the past three years, resulting in significant loss of life and mass abductions. The group criticized the lack of serious coordination among political leaders to address these pressing security challenges, which have left many residents unable to sleep at night.

Yisa called for a shift in focus to genuine leadership capable of delivering meaningful development to the region, emphasizing that the upcoming gubernatorial candidacy should emerge from Kwara North to effectively tackle these issues.
