Patrick Clancy Forgives Wife for Killing Their Children

Patrick Clancy, whose three children were killed by his former wife, Lindsay Clancy, discussed his decision to forgive her despite her never asking for forgiveness. In an interview with CBS’ 60 Minutes, he attributed her actions to severe mental illness, stating that the media's portrayal of her as a "Killer Mom" was inaccurate.

The tragic incident occurred on January 24, 2023, when Lindsay was accused of killing their children—Cora, five, Dawson, three, and eight-month-old Callan—at their home in Duxbury, Massachusetts. Patrick found the children upon returning home; Cora and Dawson died at the scene, while Callan survived for four days before passing away in Patrick's arms.

The trial ended in a mistrial on September 4, 2026, after jurors could not reach a unanimous decision regarding Lindsay's criminal responsibility, with her defense arguing she was experiencing postpartum psychosis. Patrick, who has since remarried, shared his struggles with suicidal thoughts and emphasized the importance of focusing on his children's memory and raising awareness about perinatal mental health.
