PDP Convention Ratifies Nationwide Congresses for 2027

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) convention held in Abuja ratified nationwide congresses, following a motion moved by Senator Natasha Akpoti and Uduaghan. This decision, disclosed in a statement by media aide Mike Idoko, was unanimously endorsed by delegates and marks a significant step in the party's ongoing internal reorganization in preparation for future electoral contests, including the 2027 general elections.

The convention, attended by thousands of stakeholders, aimed to restore cohesion within the party and consolidate leadership legitimacy. Akpoti and Uduaghan underscored the importance of unity and legal institutional stability, describing the exercise as central to strengthening the party's democratic framework.

The motion sought approval for congresses in various states, including Abia, Akwa Ibom, Benue, and others, reflecting broad consensus among delegates. Akpoti urged members to prioritize collective interests over personal ambitions to rebuild trust and position the PDP as a credible alternative for Nigerians.
