PDP Candidate Archibong Rejects Criminal Record Claims

Arthur-Jarvis Archibong, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Cross River State, has refuted allegations of possessing a criminal record, labeling the claims as false and politically motivated. Speaking to journalists in Calabar, Archibong described the allegations as part of a "ludicrous, mischievous, and artificially concocted advertorial" allegedly sponsored by the Cross River State Government.

He challenged anyone with evidence of criminal offenses against him to make it public. Archibong asserted that the allegations were intended to damage his reputation as he gains popularity ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

He accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of attempting to undermine his growing support across the three senatorial districts, claiming that the APC's administration has failed to deliver on infrastructure and human development. Archibong also alleged that the APC plans to use violence and cult groups during the elections.

The APC's Publicity Secretary, Emmanuel Inyang, dismissed Archibong's claims as unfounded.
