PDP Floors APC At Defence Minister’s Polling Unit In Jigawa

The recent election at polling unit 001 in Babura Kofar Arewa Primary School in Jigawa saw the People's Democratic Party (PDP) emerge victorious over the All Progressives Congress (APC), despite the presence of the former governor and APC chieftain who cast his vote. The Defence Minister, who also served as the immediate past governor of Jigawa, exercised his franchise amid tight security provided by the Nigeria Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and Nigeria Immigration Service.

The PDP secured 308 votes while the APC received 112 votes. The polling officer, Mr.

Ibrahim Shehu, confirmed the smooth conduct of the election. Despite the peaceful atmosphere, commercial activities continued in the constituency, with a relatively high turnout of voters reported across Babura and Garki Local Government Areas.
