PDP Governors In Closed-door Meeting

PDP governors held a closed-door meeting ahead of the party's 102nd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Monday. The reason for the meeting was not immediately disclosed but is believed to be related to the recent leadership crisis within the party.

One major decision expected to be made is the zoning of the 2027 presidential ticket, with three options being considered: zoning to the South, zoning to the North, or leaving the zoning open. Some stakeholders are in favor of zoning to the South, arguing that the South still has four years left in its turn.

Additionally, a PDP chieftain warned against internal sabotage and called for decisive action against members undermining unity. The NEC has also mandated a zoning committee to review leadership arrangements across Nigeria's geopolitical zones.

Former deputy national chairman of the party emphasized the need for unity and progress within the party.
