PDP Conducts Peaceful Congress in Cross River, Venatius Ikem Emerges Chairman

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River State held a peaceful congress at the Venetian Arena in Calabar, electing a new executive council for the next four years. The congress, supervised by the National Working Committee (NWC), saw Venatius Ikem emerge as the chairman.

The event drew accredited delegates from across the state, with stakeholders describing it as transparent and credible. The returning officer, Rt Hon Jones Onyeyeri, disclosed that 39 positions were contested.

Ikem, in his acceptance speech, praised the orderly conduct of the congress, highlighting the party's commitment to internal democracy. The congress showcased the PDP's resilience and dedication to fair processes.
