PDP NEC Meets Today To Ratify Zoning Report Amid Rising Tensions

The PDP National Executive Committee (NEC) is set to meet today to ratify the zoning report amid escalating tensions within the party. The NEC session, scheduled for 2 pm, will review the recommendation of the zoning committee led by Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri and Zamfara's Dauda Lawal.

The committee proposed maintaining the existing North-South zoning formula for party positions. The current National Working Committee members were allocated specific roles, with Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde securing the National Secretary position.

Despite controversies surrounding the zoning arrangements for the upcoming National Elective Convention, the PDP is striving to maintain unity. While some party members, including Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike, have expressed concerns, others, like the PDP youth leaders, have declared their support for the NEC's decisions.

The party remains focused on solidifying its foundation and preparing for the convention in November.
