PDP NEC Meets Today, Wike, Ortom’s Fate To Be Discussed

The PDP National Executive Committee (NEC) is set to meet today to discuss the fate of prominent party members, including Governor Nyesom Wike and Governor Samuel Ortom, following a disciplinary committee's report recommending sanctions for members implicated in electoral petitions from the last general election. The meeting will also address preparations for the upcoming national convention scheduled for November 15-16 in Ibadan, Oyo State, where new national officers will be elected.

Wike has expressed opposition to the convention date and demanded recognition for a congress conducted by his loyalists, which was rejected by the NWC. The NEC will review progress since the last meeting, particularly the work of the Convention Planning Committee, and address disciplinary matters, including Wike's case.
