PDP Rejects Kogi By-Election Results, Demands Fresh Poll

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected the results of the Kogi by-election and demanded a fresh poll. The state chairman of the party in Abuja issued a statement accusing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of conducting a flawed process that disenfranchised a significant number of voters.

The opposition party alleged that voting did not take place in many polling units across the constituency as electoral materials were either unavailable or inaccessible. Despite INEC declaring the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the election, with no votes recorded for the PDP, the latter questioned the credibility of the results, citing inconsistencies with previous voting patterns in the constituency.

The PDP called on the INEC Chairman to conduct an impartial review to restore public confidence in the electoral system and insisted that a fresh poll be conducted under transparent conditions to reflect the will of the people in the Okura constituency.
