Kano PDP rejects Shanono/Bagwai bye-election, alleges intimidation, thuggery

The Kano State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected the outcome of the Shanono/Bagwai bye-election, citing allegations of intimidation, thuggery, and irregularities during the voting process. State Chairman Yusuf Ado Kibiya expressed deep concern over the conduct of the poll, calling for an immediate investigation into reported breaches of electoral laws.

The PDP emphasized the need for a transparent, peaceful, and credible electoral process, condemning any attempts to use intimidation or violence to influence the outcome of the election. Kibiya urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure a level playing field for all participating parties and called on security agencies to protect citizens' right to vote freely.

The PDP also called on stakeholders, particularly the Kano State Government and national leaders, to refrain from inflammatory rhetoric that could escalate political tensions. The party reiterated its commitment to peaceful participation and respect for the rule of law, emphasizing the importance of upholding democratic principles.
