PDP Sets Up Zoning Panel Ahead Of National Convention

The PDP has established a zoning panel ahead of its national convention, with the acting National Chairman emphasizing the importance of the committee's decisions in shaping the party's future and restoring public confidence. The outcome of the zoning exercise will determine the allocation of National Working Committee positions and could also indicate which geopolitical zone will receive the PDP's presidential ticket in 2027.

The committee, chaired by Samuel Ortom, has been urged to act with wisdom, foresight, and fairness in the process. The panel's work will lay the foundation for the party's future, with a report to be presented to the National Executive Committee on August 25.

PDP Governors Forum Chairman Bala Mohammed has pledged full support for the committee's efforts, emphasizing a consultative and inclusive approach to delivering fair zoning.
