Ogun APC, PDP Unveil Deputy Governorship Candidates

As the 2027 general elections approach, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have announced their deputy governorship candidates in Ogun State. Mrs Kudirat Abiodun Balogun has been selected as the running mate for Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, while Alhaja Lateefah Sowunmi-Kolapo will serve as the running mate for Hon.

Oladipupo Adebutu. The nominations followed the conclusion of party primaries and were submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Balogun, a Chartered Accountant and financial expert from a prominent family in Ososa, is expected to appeal to women and professionals, enhancing Adeola's grassroots political strategy. Her selection is significant as Ogun West Senatorial District has not produced a governor in years.

Alhaja Sowunmi-Kolapo, a seasoned journalist, will partner with Adebutu, further emphasizing the importance of deputy candidates in the electoral landscape of Ogun State.
