PDP to Produce Nigeria's Next President in 2027 - Makinde

During the 103rd National Executive Committee meeting of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) held in Abuja, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde asserted that the PDP is poised to produce Nigeria's next president in the 2027 general elections. He emphasized the party's capability to reclaim power at the national level despite internal challenges.

Makinde addressed party members and stakeholders, expressing confidence in the PDP's ability to gather and produce candidates who can win elections across various levels in 2027. The meeting also ratified the appointment of a 13-member caretaker committee, headed by Tanimu Turaki, SAN.

This decision followed a motion moved by Edo State PDP Chairman Toni Aziegbemi and seconded by party ex-officio member Clement Fagboyede. Other notable members of the caretaker committee include Taofeek Arapaja, Daniel Ambros, Hamza Abuya, Ihediwa Isah Abubakar, Theophilus Dakashan, Ini Ememobong, Adebayo Idowu, Baru Shaffi, and Okechukwu Obiechina.
