PDP Unveils Timetable for 2027 Elections and Nominations

The People's Democratic Party (PDP), supported by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, has announced a detailed timetable for the 2026-2027 general election candidate nomination process via its official X account. The announcement was made by Theophilus Daka, the party's interim national working committee secretary.

The nomination fees are set at N100 million for presidential candidates, N40 million for governorship, N10 million for Senate, N7 million for House of Representatives, and N2 million for State House of Assembly. Notably, female aspirants and youth candidates living with disabilities will receive a 50% discount on nomination forms.

The nomination process begins on May 4, 2026, with various screening dates scheduled from May 15 to May 18, 2026. The party's primary elections and congresses will occur in late May 2026, with campaign activities expected to commence in August 2026.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has set the presidential election for January 16, 2027, and the governorship election for February 6, 2027.
