PDP Sweeps Taraba Local Government Seats as Opponents Withdraw

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) emerged victorious in all local government seats in Taraba State after opposition parties withdrew from the race. The election, conducted across 16 local government areas, was declared peaceful and transparent by the Taraba State Independent Electoral Commission (TSIEC) Chairman, Philip Duw.

Seven political parties withdrew from the contest citing objections to electoral guidelines. The All Progressives Congress (APC) initially challenged TSIEC's guidelines in court but later withdrew the case.

Governor Agbu Kefa, a PDP member, was reportedly a reason for the APC's withdrawal. The election results were presented on Sunday, with PDP candidates receiving certificates of return.
