PenCom Boosts CPS Retirees' Pensions with N2.6 Billion Injection

The National Pension Commission (PenCom) has injected N2.68 billion to increase monthly pension payments for retirees under the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS). The Director-General of PenCom, Omolola Oloworaran, announced this during a conference in Abuja.

The initiative is part of efforts to improve pension benefits and expand coverage, including the introduction of a pension boost 1.0 program. PenCom is also restructuring the Micro Pension Plan to cater to various informal sector workers.

Sani Mustapha, a retirement advocate, highlighted the positive impact of the pension reforms on retirees' welfare and financial security.
