PenCom Introduces Minimum Pension Floor and Health Insurance for Retirees

The National Pension Commission (PenCom) announced plans to introduce a minimum pension floor and health insurance coverage for retirees to ensure a decent standard of living and safeguard retiree dignity. The initiative, in line with President Bola Tinubu's directive, aims to strengthen the pension safety net and consolidate two decades of progress in Nigeria's pension industry.

PenCom's comprehensive reform agenda, "Pension Revolution Stronger Pensions Stronger Nigeria," includes updated regulations, governance enhancements, and financial inclusion measures. The reforms mark a significant advancement since the introduction of the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) in 2004, revolutionizing retirement savings in Nigeria and emphasizing the dignity of retirees.
