Edo Commissioner Blames Peter Obi for Political Instability

Kassim Afegbua, the Edo State Commissioner for Information, has publicly accused Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate, of fueling political instability in Edo State. This statement comes in the wake of violent incidents that reportedly erupted during an African Democratic Congress (ADC) gathering in Benin City.

Afegbua claimed that Obi's presence in the political arena often leads to internal conflicts and public disorder. He emphasized that Edo State remains committed to maintaining peace and will not tolerate actions that could disrupt public order.

The Commissioner dismissed claims that the attacks were sponsored by the state government and noted that security agencies are already investigating the incidents. Meanwhile, Peter Obi condemned the attacks and accused the state government of intimidation, asserting that the gathering was peaceful and disrupted by unidentified individuals.
