Omokri Questions Obi's Anti-Corruption Stance Amid Allegations

Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide, criticized Peter Obi, the Labour Party's presidential candidate for the 2023 elections, by questioning his anti-corruption stance. Omokri highlighted Obi's past associations with controversial figures, including former Nigerian military ruler Sani Abacha, suggesting that Obi may have learned from Abacha.

He referenced Obi's campaign rhetoric during the last elections, particularly his appeal to religious groups, and expressed concern over Obi's connections to individuals with alleged corrupt backgrounds. Omokri specifically mentioned Abubakar Malami, the former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, who has been linked to assets worth 212 billion naira, allegedly acquired through corrupt means.

Omokri's comments imply that Obi's call for a return to a better Nigeria is undermined by his past associations and the character of those he seeks to align with politically.
