Obi Urges Nigerians to Reject Corrupt Leaders in Abuja

Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State and presidential candidate of the Labour Party, made a significant address in Abuja where he urged Nigerians to cease the worship of corrupt leaders. He highlighted the detrimental impact of poor leadership on Nigeria's economy, which continues to struggle despite its vast natural and human resources.

Obi criticized the prioritization of corrupt officials who misappropriate public funds and stressed the importance of accountability in governance. He recalled discussions with political leaders from Indonesia, noting their economic progress due to better governance.

Obi advised Nigeria to focus on three key areas: tackling public fund theft, heavily investing in education and healthcare, and creating an enabling environment for economic productivity. He called on young Nigerians to actively participate in shaping the country's political landscape, urging them to reject corrupt leaders and hold them accountable.

Additionally, Everest, a member of ASVAN, emphasized the need for formal recognition of the artisan sector to enhance its contribution to the economy.
