Peter Obi Commends Davido for Advocating Schoolchildren's Release

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party for the 2023 elections and former governor of Anambra State, commended Nigerian singer Davido for utilizing the FIFA World Cup platform to draw attention to the plight of abducted schoolchildren. In a statement made on Sunday, Obi noted that Davido's performance at the tournament showcased Nigeria's immense potential despite its challenges.

He argued that Nigeria's absence from the World Cup reflects a failure of leadership rather than a lack of talent. Obi specifically praised Davido for wearing a customized black leather jacket with the message "Bring Home" and the names of 39 schoolchildren and seven teachers who were abducted by bandits in Oyo State.

He stated that Nigeria's security situation deserves greater attention and called for renewed efforts from government authorities to address the pervasive insecurity in the country.
