Dabiri-Erewa Warns Peter Obi of Supporter Backlash

Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the chairman of the Nigerian Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), criticized supporters of Peter Obi, referring to them as "monsters" and warning that their actions could undermine Obi's political ambitions ahead of the 2027 elections. Her comments came after she faced backlash for a tweet sharing her experience during a visit to Silicon Valley, California, where she praised a driverless car ride.

Critics accused her of hypocrisy and questioned her political alignment. In response, Dabiri-Erewa insisted that Obi has failed to control his supporters, who she believes could damage his political prospects.

She emphasized that the behavior of the "Obidients" could lead to Obi's downfall if not addressed. Despite the criticism, she maintained her stance on engaging with detractors online, rejecting the idea that public officials should refrain from responding to attacks.
