Peter Obi Faces Risk of Losing Obidient Movement Support

Ikenna Azomchin, a coordinator of the Obidient Movement in Awka, Anambra State, expressed concerns that Peter Obi may lose the support of the movement he once led. Azomchin indicated that Obi abandoned movement members during the 2023 presidential election when he ran as the candidate for the Labour Party (LP).

He noted that the group mobilized against Obi's candidacy, which could jeopardize support for the 2027 general elections. The coordinators emphasized that the movement is committed to good governance and will not support any particular candidate or party.

They urged members to vote for credible candidates across various parties, stating that the Obidient Movement's ideals should not be compromised. Azomchin reiterated that while Peter Obi is a symbol of the movement, he does not fund it, and the group remains focused on its mission for good governance.
