Peter Obi Still Firmly in Labour Party, Says Obidient Movement Leader

The National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Tanko Yunusa, confirmed that former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi remains dedicated to the party. This statement was made at the Obidient Conference in Ibadan, where Yunusa addressed speculation about Obi's political future, asserting that there are no plans to leave the Labour Party.

Yunusa also revealed Obi's intention to run for the 2027 presidential election, promising to serve only one term if elected. The movement aims to bring about a new class of leadership focused on public service, justice, and fairness.

Keynote speaker Professor Francis Egbokhare praised Nigeria's potential but criticized its current governance, urging a focus on national transformation. The Oyo state coordinator, Ayo Akinyemi, emphasized the need for unity among party members to address political challenges.

Obi's commitment to the party and vision for change were highlighted throughout the event.
