Peter Obi to Declare Presidential Party in November, Gains Support from Former Presidents

Former Nigerian Vice President Peter Obi is set to announce his political party for the 2027 presidential bid in November. Obi recently met with former Presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Olusegun Obasanjo to seek their support and endorsement.

Sources reveal that Obi is considering leaving the Labour Party for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition platform. Additionally, Obi is planning consultations with traditional rulers and former heads of state to bolster his candidacy.

The Progressives Congress dismissed Obi's consultations as inconsequential. The National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Yunusa Tanko, urged members to mobilize support for Obi's agenda.
