Peter Obi Urges Supporters to Back ADC in By-Elections Amid Labour Party Crisis

Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has urged his supporters to back the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the upcoming by-elections on August 16, 2025. This comes as the Labour Party is facing an internal leadership crisis, leading to the recognition of the ADC candidate by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Obi emphasized the need for unity and support for the ADC in the face of the ongoing crisis within the Labour Party. The Labour Party has been embroiled in a leadership tussle, with a rival faction led by Nenadi Usman splitting from the party.

The Usman faction has commended INEC for excluding the list of candidates submitted by the Abure leadership, calling it a relief. Obi's call for support for the ADC comes as a response to the turmoil within the Labour Party.
