NDC: Peter Obi's Fuel Subsidy Plan Will Benefit Nigerians

Theo Abu Agada, the Director of New Media and Strategic Communications for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), articulated the party's stance on fuel subsidy management under their presidential candidate, Peter Obi. Agada criticized President Bola Tinubu for allowing fuel subsidy funds to be controlled by state governors and accused Atiku Abubakar, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, of proposing a return to oil cabals benefiting from the subsidy.

He emphasized that Peter Obi's approach would prioritize direct benefits for Nigerians, channeling funds into essential services such as healthcare, transport infrastructure, and education. Agada noted that Obi has consistently advocated for the transparent management of the subsidy regime since 2012, contrasting this with the positions of Tinubu and Abubakar.

He urged voters to recognize the differences in policy direction and the implications for the Nigerian populace.
