Peter Obi's Ex-Running Mate Mentions Plan for 2027, Slams ADC: “They Are Deceiving Us”

Yusuf Datti, the former running mate of Peter Obi in the Labour Party during the 2023 presidential election, criticized the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for deceiving Nigerians and expressed his intention to run for the 2027 presidential election on a joint ticket. Datti mentioned that the 2023 election saw the creation of a third force in Nigeria's political space.

He also stated that he would be willing to associate with individuals or groups whose objectives align with his. While Datti expressed interest in becoming a vice presidential candidate in the future, he emphasized that his first choice for a running mate would be Peter Obi.

This comes as Obi has been criticized for not taking steps to resolve internal party crises and there have been calls for former President Goodluck Jonathan to return to the party for the 2027 election.
