Petition Filed to Remove Chief Judge Tsoho Over Misconduct

A formal petition has been submitted to the National Judicial Council (NJC) seeking the removal of Hon. Justice John Tsoho, Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, due to alleged misconduct in the leadership case of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The petition, filed by Nkemakolam Ukandu, references suit no. FHC/ABJ/CS/1819/2025, involving Hon.

Nafiu Bala Gomb against the ADC. It accuses Tsoho of abusing judicial power by disregarding a Supreme Court directive from April 30, 2026, which mandated that the ADC leadership suit be reassigned to Hon.

Justice Emeka Nwite. Instead, Tsoho allegedly allowed Hon.

Justice Peter Lifu to hear the case, violating the Supreme Court's binding order. The petition also claims that Tsoho's actions erode public confidence in the judiciary and that he has previously shown bias in politically sensitive cases.

The petition demands disciplinary measures against Tsoho and compliance with the Supreme Court's remittal order.
