Gbajabiamila Defends Loyalty to Tinubu Amid PFIPC Allegations

Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, publicly addressed allegations of betrayal during the 2026 Gbajabiamila Mega Empowerment Programme at the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos. He firmly stated that he never betrayed the trust placed in him by President Tinubu, amidst a controversy linked to the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), a fictitious agency.

Gbajabiamila emphasized that he was cleared of any wrongdoing by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Offences Commission and other investigating bodies. He described the ordeal as a significant test but affirmed that due process prevailed.

Gbajabiamila highlighted his long-standing relationship with Tinubu, which he believes reassured the President of his integrity. He also warned those he deemed sponsors of the attacks against him.

The empowerment programme aimed to assist approximately 5,000 residents, distributing various benefits, including cash support and vehicles. Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, the Deputy Governor and APC governorship candidate, praised Gbajabiamila's engagement with constituents and campaigned for Tinubu's re-election.
