Gbajabiamila Cleared in PFIPC Probe by House Committee

The House of Representatives committee, chaired by Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, has cleared Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, of allegations related to the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC). The committee's preliminary investigation revealed no evidence that Gbajabiamila created, approved, or participated in the activities of PFIPC.

Instead, it found that he took steps to alert relevant security and investigative agencies after concerns were raised about the organization. The committee established that there is no valid law or presidential instrument that recognizes PFIPC as a federal agency.

It examined an appointment letter allegedly used by Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi to claim the position of Director-General of PFIPC, which was found to be fabricated and falsely attributed to the Presidency. Gbajabiamila had previously disowned PFIPC in June, warning against dealing with the group as a recognized government institution.

The committee's findings were based on testimonies, documents, and financial records.
