ADC Criticizes ICPC Report on PFIPC Scandal

The African Democratic Congress (ADC), represented by its National Publicity Secretary Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, expressed dissatisfaction with the interim report from the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) regarding the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) scandal. The ADC highlighted that the report did not clarify how a fictitious agency obtained federal office space, had civil servants assigned to it, and was included in the 2026 budget with a provision of N1.3 billion.

The ADC criticized the ICPC for appearing to exonerate government officials rather than addressing serious questions raised by the scandal. Abdullahi pointed out that the report suggested a mere failure in government processes, which he argued was misleading given the evidence of a grand scam involving high-level government collusion.

The ADC called for a full investigation by an independent panel instead of the ICPC's preliminary report, which they deemed insufficient and potentially prejudicial to ongoing investigations.
