Amaechi Defends El-Rufai Against Phone Tapping Allegations

In a recent interview with EAGLE Media on Tuesday, Rotimi Amaechi, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, defended former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai against allegations of phone tapping involving Nuhu Ribadu. The accusations arose from reports that Ribadu's conversations were intercepted, drawing widespread criticism from various quarters, including the presidency.

Amaechi asserted that El-Rufai does not possess the capacity to tap phones, as confirmed by the NSA's office, which stated that it is responsible for monitoring calls. He further accused Ribadu of working against opposition parties in preparation for the upcoming 2027 elections.
