Ribadu Attends El-Rufai's Mother's Funeral Amid Rift

Nuhu Ribadu was spotted at the funeral of Nasir El-Rufai's mother, which took place at the Nation Mosque in Abuja, followed by her burial at Gudu Cemetery. Ribadu stood alongside former Vice President Atiku Abubakar during the janazah prayer.

The relationship between Ribadu and El-Rufai, who were once strong allies, has deteriorated, particularly after allegations surfaced that someone tapped Ribadu's phone and heard orders for the former governor's arrest. El-Rufai subsequently wrote a letter to Ribadu, requesting an explanation regarding allegations of importing poisonous substances.

Ribadu has denied these allegations, and the Department of State Services (DSS) has turned the file over for criminal charges against El-Rufai. The death of El-Rufai's mother prompted Ribadu to issue a condolence message, recalling the role of the deceased matriarch in the El-Rufai family.
