Dignitaries Attend Funeral Prayers for El-Rufai's Mother

On Sunday, dignitaries including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi attended the funeral prayers for Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, the mother of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai. The prayers took place at a mosque in Abuja.

Other notable attendees included the 16th Emir of Kano, Lamido Sanusi, billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote, former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy Isa Pantami, and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu. Governors Uba Sani of Kaduna, Babagana Zulum of Borno, and Moham Bago of Niger were also present, along with former Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari and ex-National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress Abdullahi Ganduje.

Hajiya Umma El-Rufai passed away on Friday in Cairo, Egypt, after a brief illness. Atiku Abubakar expressed condolences, praying for comfort for the family and for Hajiya El-Rufai to attain Aljannah Firdau.
