Nigerian Police Chief Hosts New Federal Director of Public Prosecutions, Pledges Support

The Nigerian Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, hosted the newly appointed Federal Director of Public Prosecutions, Oyedepo Rotimi, at the police headquarters in Abuja. Rotimi's appointment, conveyed in a letter dated December 23, was announced by Chairman Omolabake Mafe on behalf of the Federal Civil Service Commission.

Egbetokun expressed support for Rotimi and emphasized the importance of collaboration to uphold justice and the rule of law. The visit aimed to foster a strong partnership between the Nigerian Police Force and the DPP's office.

President Bola Tinubu transferred the 42-year-old Rotimi from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to the Federal Ministry of Justice. The appointment signifies a key development in Nigeria's legal landscape.
