DCP Anthony Okon Placid Appointed New Police PRO

The Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has appointed DCP Anthony Okon Placid as the new Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Nigeria Police Force. This appointment marks a significant leadership change in the media communication arm of the police.

DCP Placid replaces Benjamin Hundeyin, who regularly addressed media on security matters and police operations. The announcement was made in a statement issued on Sunday from the police headquarters in Abuja.

DCP Placid, born on December 2, 1970, in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, has a robust career in the police force, having served in various strategic capacities, including as PRO in Adamawa State and in several international peacekeeping missions. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography from the University of Uyo and a Master of Arts in Law Diplomacy from the University of Jos.

Placid's extensive training includes courses in humanitarian law and peacebuilding, and he is set to be redeployed to Cross River State shortly.
