On Saturday evening, an airstrike conducted by the Nigerian Air Force targeted suspected Boko Haram insurgents at Dilli Market, located along the Borno-Yobe border, near Gubio Local Government Area in Borno State. The Yobe State Police Command's Public Relations Officer, Dungu Abdulkarim, confirmed the incident, although no official casualty figures were available at the time of the report. Local sources indicated that the airstrike occurred during a military operation aimed at insurgents believed to be operating in the area, which is known for attracting traders and buyers from neighboring communities, including Giedam, Gubio, Chibok, and Benisheikh. Reports suggest that the strike missed its intended target, leading to at least 10 fatalities and numerous injuries. Emergency response efforts were ongoing, with injured victims receiving treatment at hospitals in Giedam and Damaturu.
