Minister Ojukwu Presents Letters of Credence to Ambassadors

On Tuesday, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu Ojukwu, formally presented letters of credence to three Nigerian ambassadors-designate: Aminu Dalhatu for the United Kingdom, Ayodel Ok for France, and Jimoh Ibrahim as the permanent representative to the United Nations in New York. This presentation was conducted on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as stated in a press release.

Ojukwu explained that letters of credence are formal documents issued by a head of state to introduce newly appointed ambassadors and high commissioners, authorizing them to represent their home country’s interests. She congratulated the ambassadors and wished them success in their duties.

The presentation follows the approval of 31 non-career and 34 career ambassadors, whose nominations were confirmed by the Senate in December 2025 after a screening by the Foreign Affairs Committee. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is set to commence an induction program for these ambassadors before they assume their posts upon receiving agreement from the host countries.
